Compact, S&W delineates models by the size of the grip frame not barrel length. There are compact models in 3.6", 4", and 4.625" barrels.
Compact You can check out any gun by its model or SKU number to find what model it actually is. https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/mp-m20-compact The numbers may be off from their site so this gun might be a newer or older model as the 1st 3 digits or 116 are what designates SW 2.0 compacts same gun though. You may want to ask SW 1st. To know which is the newest model. Stay Safe!
Movindy, this is a compact gun. There is no established definition for what makes a pistol a compact or subcompact. Handgun manufacturers decide which of their models are compact or subcompact.
