Contact is not necessary in this case Thile, but I always do as a courtesy to my FFL.
Hi Thile, Nope they'll make the contact for you. Item will ship and FFL will call you when they receive it.
No need to contact a preferred FFL dealer on Bud's list. I would recommend contacting them as soon as you order however just so they know it is coming, what to expect and who you are.
while contact is not necessary I would give them a call and let them know its coming

Buds "Preferred Dealers" are listed in green and have agreed to accept all incoming ATF approved transfers of firearms purchased on www.budsgunshop.com. When choosing a Preferred Dealer from our list, you will not need to contact the dealer to arrange a firearm transfer. The transfer service and rate has been pre-approved for all Bud's customers. However, completion and approval of ATF Form 4473 will still be required to take possession of any new or used firearm from your local dealer.
