Glad you are recovered 1st. 2nd any firearm can have an abnormality that makes it unsafe from the factory regardless of manufacturer. Looking at the many unbiased reviews and recent tests, I am inclined this is what occurred in your case. I would not give up on the Beretta C Storm just yet (although I fully understand the concern you have). I think you should give Beretta a 2nd chance. Their treatment and delay of resolving your issue would probably be enough to make anyone hesitant in my opinion.

That would be enough to make a person switch back to steel framed guns.

It's near impossible to get a hammer fired gun with a firing pin safety to fire out of battery unless it was a high primer in a hand load. If it was a hand load it certainly voids the warranty.
