Built on a durable foundation of forged steel in its barrel, slide and frame, the Emissary offers a defensive pistol with an air of custom refinement. The pistol has a beautiful two-tone finish, with a blued carbon steel slide and a stainless-steel frame with squared trigger guard. A "Tri-Top" cut to the slide gives the pistol custom-grade styling, while a heavy-profile bull barrel delivers maximum accuracy and reduces felt recoil. It utilizes Springfield Armory's U-Dot sights which are ideal for defensive situations offering fast and intuitive acquisition while providing a tritium/luminescent front sight for low light conditions. Thomas, this has a forged stainless steel frame and barrel. The slide is forged carbon steel. As for grips, yes this takes your standard 1911 grips. Lastly looks like this was manufactured right here in the USA, more specifically in Geneseo Illinois. Hope this helps
