I recently bought a used SKS and as they normally do it was full of cosmoline, while I was cleaning it the stock on it cracked right from under the recoil lug assembly and went all the way across. I did get insurance for it but not sure if it really covers it.

Jonathan, I would think that the warranty would cover the issue as a defect in component. I would file a claim using Buds instructions here  :  https://www.budsgunshop.com/warranties.php
