Daniel, this model generally needs 1200 fps shells to perform reliably so test low brass after break in. Since this shotgun has a 3 inch chamber, it can fire 3 inch and shorter 12 gauge shells (2 3/4) no issue. It is recommended to break it in with high power shells (50 or so) initially and then clean and re-lube. Some low cost full power loads in buck shot are here : budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/411559291/rio+royal+buck+12ga+2-3+4%22+00buck+9-pellet+5rds+1345fps -------------------------------------- budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/411559297/rio+royal+buck+12+ga+2-3+4%22+#4-buck+27+pellet+5rd+box
Daniel, this will feed low brass just fine. As with any firearm you may find a specific brand it just doesn't like for some reason. So I'd recommend just buying a couple boxes in different brands and see wich one works best and then stock up on it. Since this is semi automatic I'd stick with standard to high velocity rounds for the first 50-100 rounds and then clean and lube it really well then it should feed whatever you put threw it. Hope this helps.
