This has a 3 inch chamber so it can safely fire both 2-3/4 inch and 3 inch shells. This can shoot bird shot, buck shot or slugs. Since this has a smooth bore rifled slugs will get the best accuracy. Hope this helps.

Sir, his shotgun has a 3 inch chamber, it can fire 3 inch and shorter 12 gauge shells (2 3/4) no issue. It is recommended to break it in with high power shells (50 or so) initially and then clean and re-lube. Having a 3" chamber, this gun will shoot both 2 3/4" and 3" shells. It will not cycle the smaller 1 3/4" mini shells. Have a great day!
