William, yes you can use +P ammo in this gun. From the owner's manual - "Plus-P" (+P) ammunition generates pressures in excess of the pressures associated with standard ammunition. Such pressures may affect the wear characteristics and may result in the need for more frequent service. "Plus-P-Plus" (+P+) ammunition must not be used in Smith & Wesson® firearms." - Have a great day!
William, yes Sir it is +P Rated. Just stick to a frequent clean, lube and inspection routine and you will be just fine. Cheers and stay safe!
William, yes this model will handle +p ammunition just fine. Like all manufacturers S&W recommends limited use since +p ammunition can wear parts quicker than standard velocity ammo but unless you're shooting thousands of rounds I doubt you'll ever notice a difference. Hope this helps.
