Matthew, this rifle has a 16" Carbon Steel Medium Profile Barrel with a 1:10" Twist Rate (5R Rifling) & Threaded 5/8x24. I haven't really noticed a significant amount of accuracy although I don't fire excessively for the barrel to get that hot. I may try it sometimes and report back. Cheers and stay safe!
I don't think its the overheating that is killing the accuracy, rather the accuracy out of the box is mediocre (which is not bad given that its a hunting rifle.... but you can get sub moa AR10 for the same price). With the 6.5 creedmore version, I get 1.5-2.5" range with occasional 1"' ish groups with high-end match ammo. Not great when I can get a PSA AR 10 that do sub moa for a lot less. I recommend looking at other options (such as PSA for a lot less or Aero Precision for similar price) I hope this helps.
