Jack, yes, +P is safe to use in this gun. The entire line of 'XD' pistols feature fully supported and ramped barrels. Using +P ammunition will not damage your pistol, although a steady diet of this higher power ammo may decrease the service life of the barrel and/or firearm. Have a great day!
