Christopher, night sights are sights that glow in the dark to get on target easier at night time. The ridges on the bottom front are to attach accessories like a flashlight or laser. This is a upgraded model, the other ones don't have the ridges, so you can't add accessories. Hope this helps.

Sights made with Tritium are treated with a phosphor material that reacts with the Tritium's radioactive elements to become phosphorescent.
