I wash the upper (non bristle) part by hand using dish washer liquid after soaking the whole thing in the dish washer liquid and hot water then I rinse and hang it to dry. Bore mops soak and wash by hand in dishwasher liquid brass and nylon brushes rinse in the dishwashing liquid and blow off with air
Many YouTube videos out there that can offer opinions, but its been easier for me to replace when needed.

Kerosene!
I use hot water and Dawn concentrate dish washing detergent ( it goes in the foam pump and is very aggressive) in a coffee can and shake it. Leave it to sit for 20 minutes and shake it some more then rinse and shake it until the soap is gone.
