In the description it says it is a JM....meaning pre Remington serial number. When Remington took over the serial numbers changed to MR. Now under Ruger they are RM.
Trevor, this is pre Remington. It is stamped JM, which means 'John Marlin' and designates true Marlins made before Remington got there hands on the company. Once Remington took over Marlin, the prefix became 'MR' for 'Marlin Remington'. Have a great day!
