Wow sounds like its really dangerous. I just searched for any lawsuits and see nothing. If Buds won't accept the return, I would try and sell it back to them and take the loss.
I just read the reviews down below on this link. You're not the only one having this issue. I don't know how nothing has been done. They're waiting for someone to get hurt. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/5663/Firearms/Handguns/Chiappa/CHIA+340.182+1873+17HMR+7.5+AS+10RD

Submitting a complaint to the BBB should be your next step. Once the complaint is out in "Public" Chiappa may respond. A company need not be a member of the BBB for you to submit a complaint. The BBB may be able to at least get this to the attention of "Upper Management" for a response Jack.
Here I see why I'd never buy from them...http://forums.gunsandammo.com/showthread.php?11778-Chiappa-Customer-Service
1st thanks for telling us about it. I would call buds and see if they would assist you in getting the gun sent back to Chiappa. If no help I would call Chiappa and demand to speak to a customer service supervisor if no help keep going higher. BBB may help then as a last resort consulting a Lawyer may be a option (someone has to start a Class action suit) sorry for your problems and I wish you good luck
