The recoil is not bad it is slightly more than my 30-06 and less than my .300 Winchester Mag.

I've found the recoil on the .444 to be stout, but not unmanageable. I'd say it's more along the lines of the 7mm Mag. with 140-gr. bullets, myself, but everyone sees recoil differently.
