Michael, the Churchill 612 has a smoothbore barrel, so you want rifled (foster) type slugs. You don't specify which model you purchased, but if yours has a 3" chamber, either of the slugs you mentioned will work for bear defense. If you bought the model with the 2 3/4" chamber, you will need to find 2 3/4" slugs. (A 3" chamber will fire both 3" and 2 3/4" shells).
Michael, the akkar Churchill 612 has a smooth bore barrel. So for best accuracy you want rifled/foster slugs. Brenneke, Hornady, any decent rifled slug will do the trick. Here's a link to ones I'd recommend........... https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/66056/remington+slugger+12+ga+2-3+4+rifled+slug+5rd+box........... The Churchill 612 has a 3 inch chamber. So here's a link to 3 inch Magnum slugs from brenneke that should definitely put a bear down if interested.............. https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/79733/brenneke+crush+12+ga+3+1.5+oz+slug+5rd+box........... Hope this helps and you're very welcome.
