Under the NFA and Federal regulations, you can purchase a Long Gun - shotgun or rifle - in any State as long as the sale is legal in BOTH States. Now be aware that some FFL holders will not sell to a non resident as they do not know the laws in the the non residents home state
Hi Raymundo, you are allowed by Federal Law to purchase Long Guns (including AR 15) across State lines. Handguns must be purchased in your State of residence or transferred from out of State to a local FFL Dealer. Cheers and stay safe!
Raymundo, yes as long as the AR-15 you are trying to buy is a rifle and not a pistol. You can purchase long guns so rifles and shotguns out of state. Now pistols are a different story, you have to buy those in the state you live in. If you find a pistol you like you can buy it in Montana and have the gunshop you bought it from ship it to an FFL dealer/gunshop in Texas to transfer it into your name and take possession of it. Hope this helps.
