I just purchased a Tokarev TBP 12 and installed the empty magazine. I now cannot get the magazine to release . I have tried holding the bolt open, safety on and off, yet nothing works. Any ideas?

I just purchased a Tokarev TBP 12 and installed the empty magazine.  I now cannot get the magazine to release .  I have tried holding the bolt open, safety on and off, yet nothing works.  Any ideas?

John, on the TBP 12 you should be able to depress the magazine release button (right side behind magazine well) shown around 1:38 in this video (may be stiff and need some pressure when new)  :  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRKFYfMU2lk
