Michael, it will literally vary by individual FFL Dealers for their Transfer Fee. My local FFL in NC charges $20. Cheers and stay safe!
Michael, it depends on Wich FFL dealer you use. Each dealer can charge whatever they want to do the transfer. I live in PA and they usually run $20-$50 sometimes higher. So $60 is on the high side but definitely not unheard of. I'd recommend calling around and asking some local shops what they charge for the transfer fee and next time you purchase a firearm use whoever's the cheapest. You can also use buds FFL locator during checkout by typing in your zip code and it should show buds last known transfer fee for that FFL dealer to see who charges the least. My local shop charges $20 per transfer and unfortunately doesn't matter if it's a $100 gun or a $1,000 gun the transfer fee doesn't change. Hope this helps and hopefully you can find a cheaper option for next time.
Michael, the FFL dealer sets the price for the transfer fee. It can range anywhere from $25 to $100. Most brick & mortar gun shops are on the high side. For a lower price, try to find a FFL near you who works from his house, as those are usually cheaper.
