No, the model 8xx Taurus revolvers are chambered only for .38 Special +P. For the .357 and .38 Special capability you would need one of the model 6xx series such as the 605 which is approximately the same size as the 856 defender but with only a 5-shot cylinder, or the model 65 which is a larger frame with 6-shot cylinder.
