Charles, unfortunately there's two different versions. There's the S&W shield ez 30 super carry wich holds 10 rounds and the magazines single stack. So the double stack 16 round magazine won't fit and if yours has the 3.6 inch barrel that means you have the S&W shield ez 30 super carry and the 16 round magazine won't fit. The 16 round magazine fits the S&W M&P Shield Plus 30 Super Carry. You would need the single stack 10 round magazine. Charles, sounds like you have the S&W shield EZ 30 super carry which uses a slimmer single stack magazine and not the S&W shield Plus which uses the double stack magazine that you have. Different guns with different mags/capacities. Cheers and stay safe!

Charles, if you have a 3.6" barrel, you have the S&W EZ 30 Super Carry, which will only accept a single stack 10rd magazine. The 16rd magazine is a wider double stack magazine made for the S&W Shield Plus 30 Super Carry.
