Austin, the Savage smoothbore 22 is Drilled and Tapped for Optics Mounting. Due to the short range of a smoothbore I would recommend a 2x Red Dot Sight. https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/19099/truglo+red+dot+2x42mm ------------- Cheers and stay safe!
Austin, yes it is drilled and tapped for a optic. The smooth bore is meant for 22lr shot shell Wich has a bunch of tiny bbs kinda like a shotgun shell, it's not meant for standard 22lr ammo. So it's really not meant for distance shooting. It is drilled and tapped but I'd stick to a red dot if you decide to use an optic. It also includes iron sights. Hope this helps.
