Sounds like a malfunctioning hammer spring. Please contact Heritage Customer Service for their expert opinion at 229-210-2666 or 800-845-3776 or heritagemfg.com (click Support in the lower right corner). Cheers and stay safe!
Dean, no, the hammer should only drop when it's fully cocked. It shouldn't drop when pulling the trigger in any other position. I just checked mine trying to pull the trigger with the hammer in all positions and it wouldn't let me pull the trigger unless it's fully cocked. I'd recommend contacting heritage arms at 229-210-2666 or you can also call 800-845-3776 Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm or here's a link to email them................... heritagemfg.com .................... Just use the link and at the bottom right corner their will be a question mark symbol. Click on that to message heritage arms. Sorry you're having trouble but hope this helps some.
No, that is not a normal function. You should definitely give Heritage Arms Customer Service a call at 229-210-2666 or 800-845-3776 or go to heritagemfg.com then click customer support.
