Which pistol are you referring to? It could have been a recall that came through during/after your purchase? As we are just customers like yourself, I'd definitely give Bud's customer service a call.
Hi Felix, it's my opinion that retailers should check their serial numbers with the manufacturer to have the firearms returned and fixed rather than sell them to customers. In any event, the manufacturer will take care of you. Folks can always make this suggestion to Buds here : https://www.budsgunshop.com/contact_us.php?printForm=reportError
Felix, while I agree this is a bad practice, it is possible Bud's didn't even know about the recall. BudsGunShop.com will provide a prepaid label to ship the firearm to the manufacturer, if a prepaid label is not covered under their warranty. If you need a shipping label, Buds customer service can be reached at 1-859-368-0371 9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri. or use the Blue Chat now button at the bottom right corner 9am to 9pm Mon - Sat and 9am to 7pm Sunday.
Felix, as others have mentioned it's very possible buds didn't know about the recall. Alot of pistols get recalled, the most recent and guessing one your talking about is the Taurus gx4. They were just recalled 5/24/23 so it's very possible buds sold and shipped it to you before they were made aware of the issue. We're just customers as yourself though not buds employees. You can contact buds customer service at 859-368-0371 Monday thru Friday 9am to 9pm or you can use the blue chat button at the bottom right corner of your screen. They might be able to give a more detailed answer. If it is a Taurus gx4 and you haven't already here's a link to Taurus website were you can look at the serial number to see if your specific pistol is affected. Sorry but hope this helps, link here....................... https://gx4safetynotice.com/?utm_source=GATMarketing&utm_medium=taurusemail&utm_campaign=may23
