Perfectly legal in MD!! Like my state of NY, Bolt action rifles like the Axis II 308, do not suffer the same restrictions as semi-auto's. The link below can help you out on MD restrictions. budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/maryland_restrictions.pdf
