Jason, if you don't pass the background check the FFL dealer/gunshop will ship it back to buds and you will be refunded. Buds charges a 10% cancellation fee but under the circumstances you would likely be able to get it waived. I'd recommend contacting your local sheriff's office or FFL dealer/gunshop beforehand they should be able to help find out if you'll pass the background check or not. Hope this helps and you're very welcome.
I was thinking the same thing as Josh T. If you've never purchased a firearm before and had a background check run then I'd hold off ordering one online. Stop into the FFL you were thinking of using and see if they can run a background check, Then you'll know if you get flat out denied. I'm not sure if they can just run a check with the 4473 form without a firearm attached to it though. That you'd have to ask them. Good Luck!
Hi Jason and welcome. Any failure of a background check means the firearm is never transferred/owned and a full refund is issued once Buds arranges for the firearm to be picked up. No additional fees would apply. Cheers and stay safe!
Hi Jason, the background check will be run at the FFL where your gun is shipped to. In the case of failed background checks original shipping charges are NOT refunded. Customers will be responsible for return shipping in these cases. These orders may be subject to a 10% restocking fee. Good luck, stay safe, and have a great day!
