Hi Wesley, according to Charter Arms, Yes they can handle +P but we do not recommend it for the following reasons: +P ammo requires a four-inch minimum barrel to burn the extra powder. Therefore, in a two-inch barrel the extra powder is burned after the bullet leaves the barrel creating more recoil and making it harder to come back to target. We recommend a standard velocity load and practice with round nose lead rounds which are the least expensive. When you load for protection, use a jacketed or hollow point in the same grain you practice with. Stay safe & have a great day!
Wesley, yes the Charter Arms 32 H&R is rated for +p ammo but as stated due to the shorter barrel you won't gain much velocity/pressure versus standard ammo and will increase recoil. Hope this helps.
Hi Wesley and welcome. Yes, the Charter Arms 32 H&R Magnum can handle Plus P ammunition. There is a point of diminishing returns in shorter than 4 inch barrels. Extra powder is the name of the game and 4 inches is required for a complete burn. In shorter than a 4 inch barrel you get muzzle flash(unburnt powder), more recoil and fewer fps velocity gain per inch of barrel. This equates to more concussive recoil, slower follow up shots, loss of night vision in the dark and degraded accuracy. Target shooting/hunting is fine but stick with the standard loads for self defense. Cheers and stay safe.
