Hi Jason, the prices are right and will only be getting higher in the future. Remember a few years ago when folks were glad to pay $1k plus for a basic AR that can be had for $400 range today? Consider it an investment in future sport shooting, hunting and self-defense. Just let your wife know that it's better to have and not need than to need and not have. It will be used to protect my family and loved ones including "You" honey! Cheers and stay safe!

Hi Jason, there are plenty of reasons to own an AR15, here are a few. 1 - Being armed is your right and may be your civic duty. 2 - The AR-15 is the most useful firearm with which to defend against 'every species of criminal usurpation' because, first and foremost, it is a rifle. 3 - The more Americans who own AR-15s, the more likely the Supreme Court will consider them "in common use." 4 - While those who hate guns would have you think the AR-15 is nothing more than a murder machine, in truth it's the musket of our day—everyman's rifle, proudly owned by patriotic men and women of all ages. 5 - Customization. You can find aftermarket upgrades and parts if you'd like to tinker with your AR-15. It's simple to work on, courtesy of its easily understandable operation system. Jason, AR-15s are fantastic and one of my favorite platforms. If it's because your wife doesn't want you to buy one due to the money you could build one. Unfortunately you'll probably spend more in the long run building but can do so a few bucks at a time instead of one lump sum. AR-15s are great for home defense especially if you live close to people or have kids. Since a 5.56/223 round is so light it's less likely to go through walls then pistol rounds like 9mm. Since a 9mm round is heavier it'll penetrate much further and can hit people/things behind the wall. That would be my biggest selling point. Another is magazine capacity is definitely a plus. It will also be more accurate and better for longer distances than a pistol. AR-15s are also considered Legos for adults because they're simple to take apart and put together. My first AR I learned the platform by buying a inexpensive one and slowly upgrading parts. Next thing I knew I had 3/4 a rifle in spare parts. So used the old part

You really shouldn't have to "Convince" your wife, especially since you already own Firearms!?
Is it because the media has convinced her that they are merely weapons of War and "Ordinary" citizens should not own them? Or maybe because they look "Scary"?
Whatever the reason she has, there's really no reason to not own one if you're already housing handguns. They ALL have the same capability to kill if that's her concern? See if she'd go with you to your local gunstore and have them go over a few different brands/models with you both. If she's just going along with mainstream media or chatty woman of the PTA then good luck to you!!
