Hello all, I just bought a357 Taurus and ammo. While searching for ammo I ran across an ammo called 357 sig. I seen this ammo before while searching but I didn't have a need for it. My question is can you shoot 357 sig out of the 357 magnum?

Hi Dwayne Charles and welcome to Bud's. The answer is no, they are 2 completely different calibers. Since the case diameter of a .357 Magnum is .379″, and the base diameter of .357 SiG is .425″ you will find that .357 SiG won't fit in your revolver. If you could somehow pull that off, it would be unsafe to shoot. You would have likely damaged your revolver in the attempt.

Hi Dwayne. Unfortunately no. .357 Sig is a rimless Semi-Auto cartridge and .357.38 Spec are rimmed cartridges. Dwayne, no, they're two completely different calibers and wouldn't recommend trying it. While the 357 sig was designed to mimic the 357 mags power it's a rimless cartridge designed to be used in semi automatic pistols. The 357 mag is rimmed. Now you can fire 38 special in any 357 Magnum revolver. Sorry but hope this helps.
