Lisa, you can use any 9mm ammo you can find as long as it's 9mm. The sig ammo you linked to is a fine choice for the range/target shooting. Some ammo may function better than others so I'd recommend trying several different brands and see wich works best. Ruger really doesn't make ammo. They do make one kind called Ruger arx frangible ammo but wouldn't really recommend it. If interested here's a link to range ammo id recommend for your Ruger............................ https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/63308/cci+blazer+brass+5200+9mm+115+grain+fmj+50+bx ........................ I shoot blazer ammo in alot of 9mm firearms and very reliable. If you plan to use it for protection here's a link to a good budget friendly defense round i'd recommend..................... https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/96689/sig+sauer+elite+v-crown+9mm+147+20rd+box ....................... And lastly if you want the best defense ammo available here's a link to one
Hi Lisa, Ruger doesn't make standard range/target ammo. You can use ANY 9mm FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) in either 115gr or 124gr for practice. I'd personally stay away from steel cased ammo as it can be hard on the extractor if used a lot.
The Sig Sauer is an excellent brand but the +p is not necessary.
You'll find, after shooting different brands, some shoot better, some are dirtier & some are inconsistent in nature than others.
Personally for practice these CCi's below are an excellent choice!

As far as Defensive rounds, this becomes more of a personal choice with shooters. I use Hornady Critical Defense but I do switch out occasionally, that's just me.
Good luck & happy shooting!!
Hi Lisa and welcome to the Buds Community. As long as the 9mm ammunition is made by a major reputable company, you can use most any brand. Remington, Winchester, Federal, Blaser, Sig Sauer, etc. For Target practice I recommend Blazer Brass 100rd boxes: https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/109599/cci+blazer+brass+9mm+115+gr+full+metal+jacket+100+bx+5+cs ----------------------- And for Self Defense I recommend Nosler Jacketed Hollow Points : https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/88255/nosler+51017+match+grade+9mm+jacketed+hollow+point+115gr+50 --- Cheers and stay safe!
Hi Lisa and welcome to Bud's. Ruger doesn't make ammo, you can use any brand you want, as long as it is 9mm, also known as 9x19mm parabellum, or 9mm luger. You also don't need the +P ammo you are showing. I would stick with a well known brand like CCI. For target & range practice, you want FMJ 9full metal jacket (either 115 or 124 grain). budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/63308/cci+blazer+brass+5200+9mm+115+grain+fmj+50+bx , For home/self defense, you want hollow points. budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/61880/sellier+%26+bellot+9mm+jacketed+hollow+point+115+gr+12 , Stay safe & have a great day!
