David, never heard of Glock using different gens for the Glock 44 but this is based off the gen 5 design/ergonomics. Hope this helps.

This is the same question that has come up about the 43x model. Glock did not designate a generation for that model either. But, like the 43x, the 44 .22lr model is definitely based around gen 5 features. Either way, it's a Glock model I may add to the stable as well, always a good time plinking with .22lr!!!
