Les, as others have mentioned since you're a correctional officer you should be able to purchase this but Illinois's gun laws can be confusing. Out of all the states believe Illinois tries making it so confusing that people aren't sure if it's legal and give up trying but from what I'm reading you should be able to purchase this. We're just customers as yourself though not buds employees, so we can only point you in the right direction. Les, #3 under LE exemptions states "Wardens, superintendents, and keepers of prisons, penitentiaries, jails, and other institutions for the detention of persons accused or convicted of an offense." budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/illinois_restrictions.pdf , I would say yes, but IANAL, so check with Bud's customer service 1-859-368-0371 or check with your local FFL.
