Hi Douglas and welcome. In 22lr, full powder burn happens at around 16 inches of barrel. A shorter barrel can be as inherently accurate as a longer barrel especially if there is not a substantial velocity increase to push the bullet for less drop at a longer distance. Once the powder is burned, there is no point in a longer barrel. Hope this makes sense. Cheers and stay safe!
