Jim, the receiver is made of steel. Henry makes great lever action rifles. Hope this helps.

Jim, the rimfire receivers are not steel. All of the Henry rimfire receivers are made of a zinc alloy called Zamak. (Z-Zinc, A-Aluminum, MA-Magnesium, and K-Kopper) The "Golden Boy" is also the "Zamak" alloy, and they call the plating on it "Brasslite", it's not solid brass. Stay safe & have a great day!

Jim, everything I'm seeing says it has a steel receiver.
