The description shows this is a hybrid 223/5.56 but an AR that's 223 it's not recommended to shoot 5.56 in so does the hybrid make it OK to use 5.56 x 45 ammo or do you need to use 223 ammo

Hi David and welcome. Fortunately, the barrel is stamped 5.56 NATO so it will shoot both. Cheers and stay safe!

Hi David, if a gun is rated for 5.56, it can shoot either 5.56 or .223. 
If a gun is rated for .223 only, then it cannot safely fire 5.56.
This gun is rated for 5.56, so it will fire either caliber safely.
