Aiden, a distressed color will not have a shiny finish, it will look worn, so yes it will be somewhat dull.

Aiden, I'd consider this more of a dull finish. It's not a glossy/shiny type red. Its destressed red so it'll be kind of dull because of the hints of black and worn down look. Sounds like you might have already but if not can find better pictures by googling the upc (688099401887) and model number (PI19502RD). Sorry but hope this helps.
