Jeffrey, see pgs 26-28 of owners manual if you haven't already. If you have, re-read it and follow instructions closely. The bolt on the action bar must be seated correctly, there is a cut on the bolt for the barrel notch that must be properly aligned. Not sure what else can be done, except maybe a more competent gunsmith? Good luck.
Hi Jeffrey and welcome. Just for safety and warranty reasons, I would contact Iver Johnson Customer Service for advice/guidance at 321-636-3377. Cheers and stay safe!
Jeffrey, that's weird that the gunsmith couldn't help. If you or a gunsmith can't figure it out id recommend contacting the manufacturer at 321-636-3377 or you can email them at (service@iverjohnsonarms.com). Hopefully they can help you put it back together over the phone or might have to send it in for warranty work if there's any type of issue. Only other option would be to try another gunsmith. Sorry you're having trouble but hope this helps some.
