Yes, the newer generation magazines are still compatible with Gen 3 guns. The primary changes between generations for the magazines were the addition of a second locking notch for use with left-hand magazine release buttons and floorplates that are slightly longer at the front. The follower on newer magazines is also orange now instead of black.
