John, yes sir, The Diamondback Sidekick uses a transfer bar ignition system. There is no danger of an accidental discharge if the hammer is struck. Hope this helps.

John, I actually own the Sidekick, and it does NOT have a transfer bar. It uses a hammer block safety. It is safe to carry with a full cylinder, the hammer can not come in contact with a live round unless you actually pull the trigger. Stay safe & have a great day!
