Hi Otis. A gun chambered for .223 Wylde can safely shoot both .223 and 5.56. The .223 Wlyde has a chamber with the leade (That portion of a firearm's barrel immediately in front of the chamber where the bullet travels prior to contacting the rifling.) angle and external dimensions of the 5.56, but the leade diameter of the .223. This gives you a chamber where the gas expansion is tight and controlled because of the smaller leade diameter of the .223. But also one you can fire 5.56 through because of the 5.56-style leade angle and length. The ammo you have linked to will work just fine in your Black Rain Ordnance AR15. Hi Otis and welcome. 5.56 nor .223 will damage a Wylde. The Wylde was designed as a compromise between the head spacing for 5.56 and .223 for the sole sake of accuracy. It has nothing to do with either round damaging the barrel as I have several Wylde's with thousands of rounds with zero damage other than normal wear. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

Otis, for a firearm chambered in 223 Wylde you can use both 223 rem and 5.56 nato. That's what the 223 Wylde barrel was designed for. The online reviews were probably referring to barrels chambered in 223 Remington. A 223 rem barrel can only shoot 223 rem. Then you have 5.56 nato barrels wich can safely fire 223 rem and 5.56 nato because 5.56 has a higher chamber pressure. Lastly you have your barrel 223 Wylde Wich can also shoot both 223 rem and 5.56. the 5.56 nato has a higher chamber pressure and ever so slightly longer throat versus 223 rem. That's why it's unsafe to fire 5.56 in a 223 rem barrel. People said due to the slightly different throat size of the casings of 5.56 vs 223 that 223 Remington wasn't as accurate in a 5.56 barrel. So 223 Wylde was designed to make a happy medium in-between 223 rem and 5.56. So a 223 Wylde barrel is basically a 5.56 barrel designed to fire 223 rem ammo more accurately.
