As a Maverick 88 owner myself I can tell you that it does not have a rail on the forend to mount a light. I went ahead and purchased a tube adapter and installed a light easy peezy!!

Hi Joshua and welcome to the community. It is easiest to replace the fore-end with a railed fore-end to add a laser or light or laser/light combo of your choice.
