Carl, this is meant for a AR-15 in .223 Rem/5.56 NATO or 22 LR but according to the manufacturer will also work with 9mm. It's threaded 1/2×28. So unfortunately this wouldn't work for a 308 with 5/8×24 tpi. Sorry but hope this helps.
