This looks like a well made easy to operate trench gun. I was all set to order one until I realized I didn't see a convenient way to add a a sling.. Would that not be a desirable feature?

Absolutely!! You can get a sling that goes through the tube/barrel then wrap around the stock.
Personally, I'd just get a QD (Quick Detatch) tube mount attachment, then add a QD attachment to the stock. Very easy to do.
