While the will fire they may not feed as the 22 shot shells have a flat plastic cap instead of a rounded bullet I use them in my revolvers and have hand fed them into autos making the basically a single shot firearm. you can hand feed one into the chamber and load the rest of the mag with normal 22 lr ammo and be fine (they will not feed in my 22lr autos )
