Hi Mike and welcome. Unfortunately, it is not. Details under Rifles here : https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/new_york_restrictions.pdf - Cheers and stay safe!
Mike, unfortunately no, even being a 22lr any semi automatic with a detachable magazine cannot have a pistol grip. Sorry but hope this helps. If interested here's a link to New Yorks restrictions.......................... https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/new_york_restrictions.pdf
As a fellow NY'r I can tell you it's a Definite no. Thanks to the Safe Act, then compound that with this current Governor's CCIA, we're screwed. The SAFE ACT bans most semi-automatic rifles by making it a felony to possess a semi-automatic rifle with a detachable magazine that has one or more cosmetic features that New York finds undesirable, such as: A folding or adjustable stock. A thumbhole stock. A pistol grip.
Mike, no sir, a semi-auto rifle cannot have a pistol grip. budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/new_york_restrictions.pdf , Stay safe & have a great day!
