Edwin, Although IWI's manual clearly states that the rifle is intended for 7.62 NATO ammunition only, a representative of IWI US assured that it's OK to fire .308 Win. ammunition. Most(not all) modern 7.62 battle rifles will handle either. I would proceed with caution at your own risk. Stay safe & have a great day!

Edwin, yes sir, normally wouldn't recommend shooting 308 through a 7.62×51 but iwi says it's ok to do so. So yes, you're good to go. Hope this helps.
