Indeed the same round. SOV may be an abbreviation for "Soviet" surplus?

Felix, correct, this uses 7.62×39mm Wich is a standard ak round. 7.62×39 sov/Soviet is the same cartridge as 7.62×39mm some places just add the Soviet to the name. Kind of like 9mm, they have to make it confusing and call it by 5 different names like 9mm nato, 9mm parabellum, 9×19, 9mm luger and so on but they're all the exact same round. Hope this helps.
