Yes it is however I recommend contacting your local FFL holder as he will have the latest restrictions
Jacob, no sir, this is not Illinois compliant. A semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine can not have a shroud attached to the barrel or that partially or completely encircles the barrel, allowing the bearer to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand without being burned, but excluding a slide that encloses the barrel. The heat shield disqualifies this rifle. Illinois restrictions here https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/illinois_restrictions.pdf , Stay safe & have a great day!
I see where Ed is coming from with regards to the heat shroud but, being that it's not going past the lower forend I'm wondering if it is or isn't legal for IL. I'd take Randy's advice and check with your local FFL to be sure.
Hi Jacob, contact a local FFL for the latest updates on compliance or not of any firearm in question. Cheers and stay safe!
