This will depend on the ammunition you shoot. 9mm will recoil more than 22 cal and a very good low recoil self defense load is the low recoil Hornady Critical Defense Lite: https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/95564/hornady+critical+defense+9mm+lite+100gr+25rd+box - You will not have any issues with the Glock and this load. If you're thinking about the Glock 43x, I'll tell you it is a bit on the snappy side but manageable for me. Now, with practice, you can get used to the recoil. My wife uses the M&P Shield EZ in .380 and loves it. Not much recoil & they also have them in 9mm. If you are wanting to stick with a Glock, you might want to check out the Glock 45 model.
