I bought this rifle maybe 9 years ago, shot it plenty with no problems. I recently posted on an online media forum asking for suggestions for a replacement hand guard and was met with a barrage of disparaging remarks about this rifle, saying it was a ticking time bomb. I am wondering if anyone knows anything more definitive.

Hi RG and welcome. They are referring to the latest versions which have not benefited from the same quality control from a few years ago. No issues were reported on earlier models but, recent models have been hit or miss. Cheers and stay safe!
